Sun & Bloom Cafe: An Honest Review

About two weeks ago, a TikTok video put Sun & Bloom Cafe on my radar. It’s a new cafe that opened near me. Beautiful aesthetic, according to the video. But the comments told a different story. People said the employees don’t greet customers and leave an awkward, cold impression.

I almost skipped it. Then I checked Google reviews. Overwhelmingly positive. So I gave it a shot anyway.

First Impressions

I pulled up and immediately fell for the floral, whimsical aesthetic. A flower garden greets you out front. Walk inside and you’re met with a display of bouquets, minimalist plants, and plushies. The seating is comfortable, the lighting is natural, and the vibe works whether you’re chilling with friends or posted up with your laptop.

The Service

Three employees were working when I walked in. Only one greeted me: the owner. He introduced himself warmly and made me feel welcome. The two younger employees said nothing. Not a word.

Maybe they’re shy. Maybe they’re just serious people. But here’s my take, coming from someone who’s worked customer service before: a smile or a simple “hi” costs nothing. If your job puts you face to face with customers all day, that’s part of the job.

The Drink

I ordered brown sugar boba tea from the kiosk. One of the quiet employees made it, and I have zero complaints there. The boba was fresh and soft, and the drink was crafted perfectly. 10 out of 10, no notes.

My Ratings

  • Food: 10/10
  • Cafe Aesthetic: 9/10
  • Cleanliness: 10/10
  • Customer Service: 6/10
  • Overall: 8.75/10

Final Verdict

Sun & Bloom nails the aesthetic and the drinks. The service needs work. I’m going back on my next day off to try dining in and see if the vibe holds up round two.
