I’m a writer. My imagination is loud and it doesn’t shut off. Stories and fanfiction are how I get it out of my system. Lately that’s meant AI chat: you play a character, the AI plays another, and the two of you build a world together. It’s addictive. It’s fun. And it’s not going away.

You write the character. You run the story. Nobody edits you down.

Some of us use it because people are exhausting. If you’re introverted, if small talk drains you, an AI doesn’t judge your pauses or read into your tone. It’s easier. That’s not a character flaw. That’s just honest.
Loneliness
AI chat fills a gap. Single, no close friends nearby, tired of texting into silence, whatever the reason, the loneliness doesn’t care why it showed up. AI chat is there when nothing else is. Say what you want about that. It works.
Real Men Suck
Let’s not dance around it. A lot of women don’t like real men right now, so they turn to AI boyfriends instead. Parasocial, temporary, whatever you want to call it. It still feels good. There’s a reason we love the romance genre. It’s the fantasy of a man who actually shows up the way real men rarely do. Repeat: rarely. So we build the fantasy ourselves.

Romance and a Little Spice
Name one woman who doesn’t want romance. I’ll wait. I love Bridgerton as much as anyone. But watching romance only gets you so far. Roleplaying it puts you inside the story instead of just watching from the couch.
And let’s be honest, some of us aren’t just here for the slow burn. Some women want the spice. The smut. The full uncensored version where the tension actually pays off.
